There are a few different types of hemorrhoids, each with their own specific characteristics. Knowing the symptoms of each type may help you in determining what sort you have and what the best hemorrhoid treatments are for your particular problem.

External Hemorrhoids are visible and can be felt outside the anal canal. They can be very uncomfortable and make you feel like there is something there that doesn’t belong. They can itch, be painful, and swell up to make sitting difficult. They can also make it painful to have a bowel movement and to wipe afterwards.

When you have external hemorrhoids, they can become Thrombosed Hemorrhoids if a blood clot develops. This would mean that the affected vein has ruptured, and it can be very painful. Sometimes, thrombosed hemorrhoids bleed a lot and may require surgery to repair.

Internal Hemorrhoids are hemorrhoids inside the anal canal or rectum. Sometimes, there is no pain with internal hemorrhoids, because there aren’t pain receptors inside the rectum. If you have this type of hemorrhoid, you may not even know it until you see blood when you have a bowel movement. If internal hemorrhoids are not treated, then Prolapsed Hemorrhoids or Strangulated Hemorrhoids may occur.

Prolapsed hemorrhoids are really internal hemorrhoids that have been pushed out of the anus by becoming distended and swollen. If a prolapsed hemorrhoid becomes trapped outside of the anal canal, then the blood supply can be cut off, and it becomes a strangulated hemorrhoid.

Types of Treatments

Hemorrhoids are a common health condition worldwide. Along with over-the-counter topical agents, there are several treatment modalities at the disposal of physicians to treat hemorrhoids. However, many of these modalities can be distressing for the patient.

External hemorrhoids which are not bleeding and not thrombosed may be treated with a hemorrhoid cream, ointment, warm baths, witch hazel, or another soothing and healing remedy. Mild internal hemorrhoids can be treated with suppositories of hemorrhoid cream, witch hazel, and possibly by taking a supplement. There are many home remedies to try, and some of them have been said to work wonders.

There are more invasive treatments for thrombosed, prolapsed, and strangulated hemorrhoids. These include rubber band ligation, hemorrhoid surgery, and laser coagulation (an electric current being delivered to the area, shutting down the blood supply to the hemorrhoid).

Finding the right treatments may depend on finding out what type of hemorrhoids you have. If you are not sure, consulting your doctor will help you get the information you need to make sure that what you use is the best option for treating your hemorrhoids.

You can also use the Internet to find the newest and most recommended hemorrhoid treatments available. Doing research is always a good idea before making a final decision as to what treatments to try, as it helps to know what to expect. You can also find ways to combine hemorrhoid treatments in order to get the best and fastest results. Hemorrhoids may be painful, but the sooner they are taken care of, the less trouble you will have with them.

How to choose a right treatment

Conservative medical therapies for hemorrhoids include diet, lifestyle changes, and hydrotherapy which require a high degree of patient compliance to be effective. When conservative hemorrhoid therapy is ineffective, many doctors turn to other non-surgical modalities. These include injection sclerotherapy, manual dilation of the anus, rubber band ligation, cryotherapy, bipolar diathermy, infrared photocoagulation, or direct current electrocoagulation.

Non-surgical modalities require physicians to be specially trained, own specialized equipment, and assume associated risks. If a non-surgical approach fails, the patient is often referred to a surgeon. The costly and uncomfortable nature of treatment options often leads a patient to postpone evaluation until aggressive intervention is necessary.

Oral dietary supplementation is an attractive addition to the traditional topical treatment of hemorrhoids. The loss of vascular integrity is associated with the pathogenesis of hemorrhoids. In terms of oral supplementation, the botanical extracts in AntiHemorrhoidDrops have been shown to improve microcirculation, capillary flow, and vascular tone, and to strengthen the connective tissue of the perivascular amorphous substrate of the rectum.

Application of HemorrhoidBalm-Rx and oral supplementation with AntiHemorrhoidDrops are therefore able to prevent time-consuming, painful, and expensive medical treatment for hemorrhoids.

We truly have taken great efforts in the development of our hemorrhoids treatments. After years of exacting the most precise formulations and materials, these deliver the goods and then some. We genuinely strive for betterment of humanity and to promote a sustainable planet.

Over the years, we have analyzed thousands of medicinal plant substances finding and blending those which exhibit maximum therapeutic activity without causing adverse effects in order to create the optimum remedies for specific human ailments. Our research includes both extracts and pure compounds from herbal medicines as reported in laboratory studies, as well as our own independent trials.

The role of herbal compounds used in traditional medicine has also been thoroughly investigated and incorporated into our treatments. Interestingly, traditional medicines like Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) contain highly successful all natural drugs. NaturesPharma has secured these highly effective naturally occurring medicinal extracts from pure sources and blended them into our treatments.

We have identified a significant number of naturally occurring small molecules, including phenolics, polyphenols, terpenes (e.g., mono-, di-, tri-), and flavonoids which have incredible systemic action, used medicinally to treat venous insufficiency, and heavily concentrated in HemorrhoidBalm-Rx and AntiHemorrhoidDrops.

NaturesPharma’s hemorrhoids treatments are highly specialized. Clinical trials of these treatments against hemorrhoids confirm their superb anti-hemorrhoid action, resulting in “fast clinical efficacy in management, treatment and control of hemorrhoids” without adverse side effects.

HemorrhoidBalm-Rx and AntiHemorrhoidDrops provide an immediate and direct therapeutic result to rapidly and safely eliminate hemorrhoids, guaranteed.

Definition

Hemorrhoid surgery is the removal of swollen veins around the anus (hemorrhoids). Hemorrhoids can be inside or outside of the skin around the rectum.

Alternative Names

Hemorrhoidectomy

Description

Hemorrhoids can be surgically removed using a special stapler or sutures (stiches). You may be sedated and pain-free (local or spinal anesthesia) or asleep and pain-free (general anesthesia). After the hemorrhoid is removed, you may have stitches that dissolve on their own and gauze packing to reduce bleeding.

Smaller hemorrhoids may not need surgery. These procedures are often done in an outpatient clinic or your doctors office, with minimal or no anesthesia.

To treat your hemorrhoids, your doctor may:

Give you a chemical shot to reduce swelling
Place a rubber band around the hemorrhoid to cut off the blood supply to it
Shrink the hemorrhoid with infrared light or a laser, or freeze it with liquid nitrogen
Why the Procedure Is Performed

Your doctor may recommend hemorrhoid removal when nonsurgical treatment (such as a high-fiber diet, laxatives, stool softener, suppositories, medications, and warm baths) do not make your symptoms go away.

Typical symptoms are:

Persistent itching
Anal bleeding
Pain
Blood clots (thrombosis of the hemorrhoids)
Infection
Risks

Risks for any surgery are:

Bleeding
Infection

Risks for any anesthesia are:

Reactions to medications
Breathing problems, pneumonia
Heart problems
Before the Procedure

Always tell your doctor or nurse:

If you could be pregnant
What drugs you are taking, even drugs or herbs you bought without a prescription

Several days before surgery, you may be asked to stop taking aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, naproxen (Aleve, Naprosyn), warfarin (Coumadin), and any other drugs that make it hard for your blood to clot.

On the day of the surgery:

If you are having general anesthesia, and you will usually be asked not to drink or eat anything after midnight the night before the surgery.
Take the drugs your doctor told you to take with a small sip of water if you are restricted.
Your doctor or nurse will tell you when to arrive.
After the Procedure

You may have a lot of pain after surgery as the anus tightens and relaxes. You may be given medications to relieve pain.

To avoid straining, you will use stool softeners. Avoid any straining during bowel movement or urination. Eat more fiber to ease bowel movements. Drink 8 to 10 glasses of water a day.

Gradually return to your normal activities. Avoid lifting, pulling, or strenuous activity until your bottom has healed.

Soaking in a warm bath can give you additional comfort. You may be given a container to give yourself sitz baths (sitting in 3 to 4 inches of warm water) a few times a day.

You should have complete recovery in about 2 weeks.

Outlook (Prognosis)

The outcome is usually very good for most people. Eating a high-fiber diet, and avoiding constipation may help to prevent hemorrhoids from coming back. However, you may still develop new hemorrhoids.

If you've tried many types of hemorrhoid solutions then you probably understand the differences of how each is used. In this article, I'll go over what each of them do for the body, how they intend to treat hemorrhoids or piles, and the controversial, raw truth on most of them.

The first popular type is creams and ointments where a topical treatment is rubbed on your outer rectal area and aims to soothe blood vessels. This creates a relaxation of the tissue so that it does not bulge out so much. Once the tissue does not bulge, the hemorrhoid will be less likely to flare up. This is great for some relief in the temporal matter but unfortunately you are practically guaranteed to flare up again.

The 2nd type that is very popular as well in the form of suppositories which is inserted inside the rectum for the purposes of delivering moisture to the hemorrhoid and creating a lubricating effect once the next rectal pressure comes. The aim is to ensure the hemorrhoid heals without rupturing again. For some it works well, for others not so but it's worth seeing.

The 3rd type is pills where one can consume that regulate some blood pressure in the system. This can have its side effects but overall it's used to tighten vein tissue so that the hemorrhoid is less susceptible to problems. It's a very top down approach that has its benefits but can also induce real side effects and big pharmacies like to push this.

These three types are the most common and once these are exhausted, you still have options such as cryotherapy or surgery. It all depends on the individual case and what you can tolerate. In my personal experience, it's best to first try the safer options before going to the extreme measures. Even if the pain is unbearable, you can still use relief from these methods. It’s just not pleasant long-term either.

Now, not all hope is lost. I do have one solution that has surprised me pleasantly. I’d like to review a totally safe, natural remedy that works within a few days. It’s called the H Miracle system and you can find it at: HERE

It’s already been proven by hundreds, if not thousands of success stories in the underground fashion of alternative medicine. The system includes ingredient resources, charts, audio lessons and basically everything you need to cure your hemorrhoids one and for all. I really recommend it and just see the testimonials from users who have triumphed even severe hemorrhoids for good.

Today, I wanted to alert you to something will afflict 40% of the adult population (or more) at some point of their lives. It's called hemorrhoids or piles and it's basically any form of vein inflammation around the lower rectal regions.

Blood on your toilet paper? Itching in your anus area? Pain during constipation? All of these are likely signs that you may have hemorrhoids and it's no laughing matter – because although common, they can be annoying and embarrassing.

In the more severe stages, they can fall out like a lump outside your bottom. So what are some common mistakes that people make which contribute to developing this common condition? Even if you have these already, avoiding the following 3 mistakes can start relieving the problem gradually.

Mistake #1: Eating too much processed food

This can be a toughie for some people. However, it's known that processed foods create harder stool and troubles in digestion. This creates constipation and other issues which can lead to hemorrhoids. The key here, especially when you are suffering and trying to cure hemorrhoids, is to lower your intake of processed sugars and foods.

Mistake #2: Sedentary lifestyle

A lot of long term sitting can create additional pressure on the bottom area and this invokes the perfect environment for a hemorrhoid to occur if combined with a sharp force such as constipation or pregnancy (in women). The solution is to make sure you do not sit for over 1 hour at a time, and remember to do stretches that promote healthy blood flow.

Mistake #3: Intake of processed medication and creams

This creates the same potential problem as processed foods. Even many of the fiber supplements contain processed and artificial elements that can create side-effects elsewhere… and lastly they are not even attacking the root of the problem here.

The other downside of these creams which do no benefit is that they waste one's time and the hemorrhoid can get worse over time if the root problem is not reversed.

So try to avoid these 3 mistakes and you will not be contributing to any worsening of hemorrhoids. It's very important to understand these in our modern lifestyle of sedentary office work and processed, convenient diets. Now, not all hope is lost. I do have one solution that has surprised me pleasantly. I’d like to review a totally safe, natural remedy that works within a few days. It’s called the H Miracle system and you can find it at: HERE

People with hemorrhoids have been stereotyped by the comics or comedians to be laughing stocks. That’s why fewer people with hemorrhoids tend to go to a doctor and have back irritations and pain sensations consulted by a specialist. Instead they just wait for the pain to subside and just worry about it some other time; especially if the pain becomes chronic. If you are really worried about having hemorrhoids, a careful lifestyle will help a lot. Here are some causes of hemorrhoids that you may have been practicing.

Pregnancy:

Being pregnant causes a woman to increase chances of having hemorrhoids. This is because the rectal veins will be pressured more because of the added weight in the uterus. For women who are already experiencing hemorrhoids, pregnancy can worsen the situation.

Women who are pregnant who do not experience hemorrhoids during pregnancy may still get hemorrhoids during the labor period. This is due to the long and arduous delivery. Another reason is the constipation that a woman experiences after childbirth. Because of the tenderness in the anus and perianal area, women will prolong bowel movements.

Postponing Bowel Movements:

There are some people who are afraid to crap at other places because the toilet might be dirty. Another reason is that there is just no toilet nearby. So people will just try to force the crap back inside for a couple more hours. Doing this occasionally can do no harm, however if it becomes habitual it might lead to hemorrhoids.

When the crap stays longer in the fecal colon, it becomes harder and drier. This makes it tougher to pass. You will then need to force its way out. The rectal muscles that signal a person its time to crap may also become weaker. Just imagine a situation that you suddenly crap in your pants because you didn’t feel anything.

Diseases:

There are lots of diseases that cause hemorrhoids. One disease that can seriously cause hemorrhoids is rectal cancer. This is because rectal cancer will make the person have “false” calls of nature. It will then cause the person to go the bathroom regularly and will strain longer.

People who abuse alcohol will make their livers larger. This will then create extra pressure on the rectal veins. Other diseases that may also cause hemorrhoids are irritable bowel syndrome and intestinal tumor. These diseases causes constipation or interfere with normal elimination.

Many people are embarrassed to visit their doctor to have a consultation for their hemorrhoids. It is important to remember that hemorrhoids is a common ailment in the United States for people who are in their fifties and above.

Consulting a doctor when you are experiencing the symptoms of hemorrhoids is always the best thing to do because there are other medical conditions and diseases that have almost similar symptoms like that of hemorrhoids. Your doctor can confirm that the symptoms you have are due to hemorrhoids and not other diseases or medical conditions.

If you don't have a family doctor to consult with, you can go to other general practitioners like the gastroenterologists, proctologists, and the colon and rectal surgeons who have expertise regarding hemorrhoids.

When consulting a doctor, it is important to describe the symptoms in a detailed manner to have a correct diagnosis for your hemorrhoids. These are some of the issues that you must carefully describe to the doctor: pain, bleeding, mucus or pus, change in bowel habit, change in the shape and characteristics of your stool, swelling, itching, and bulges and protrusions.

Pain - The anal area have many nerve endings that is why it is sensitive to pain. Painful flare-ups are caused by external hemorrhoids. When an internal hemorrhoids are prolapsed, they are also painful. But, not all hemorrhoids will give you the painful feeling.

Bleeding - The color of the blood is an indicator of the location of the bleeding - bright red is from the anal canal and dark red is from the colon. Bleeding does not always indicates hemorrhoids. It can also be associated with more serious medical conditions like colorectal cancer and ulcer.

Mucus or pus - Having some mucus or pus discharge is not associated with hemorrhoids.

Change in bowel habit - When you are under emotional stress, tension, trauma, or diet change, a change will occur in your bowel habit where alternating or chronic diarrhea and constipation may happen.

Change in the shape and characteristics of your stool - When your stool is colored brown or yellow and good in form, then you have a healthy stool. But when there is a change in the shape or color of your stool, it can be a symptom of other medical conditions but not hemorrhoids.

Swelling - A person with hemorrhoids will always have the swelling symptom, but this may also mean other medical conditions like infection.

Itching - Hemorrhoids, food and medicine allergies, skin diseases, stress, etc. can cause chronic itching.

Bulges and protrusions - Prolapsed internal hemorrhoids will cause bulges in the anal canal while external hemorrhoids will have hard bulges located outside of the opening of the anal area.

Not all of these symptoms will lead to a diagnosis of hemorrhoids. Consulting a doctor is not an embarrassing moment. Instead, it is the best way to find out if what you are having are hemorrhoids or not.

Hemorrhoids are a common problem for pregnant women, with up to 50% of women suffering through them. They are painful, itchy, and no one wants to talk about them (or be seen buying Preparation H and Tucks). The good news is that hemorrhoids should get better after the baby is born, and there are some things that you can do right now to lessen your discomfort.

What Is a Hemorrhoid, Anyway?

A hemorrhoid is actually a varicose vein. The veins in and around the rectum become swollen. During pregnancy, your body has more blood circulating through your veins. All your veins, especially those below your uterus, become dilated. Symptoms include itching, burning, pain, and bleeding. Bleeding from a hemorrhoid is usually bright red, and more often seen on the toilet paper than in the bowl. Always have rectal bleeding checked out by a doctor, even if you suspect it is due to a hemorrhoid.

Can I Prevent Hemorrhoids?

Straining while moving your bowels puts even more pressure on the already dilated veins. If you get constipated, talk to your health team about a stool softener. To avoid constipation in the first place:

Drink 8-10 glasses of water a day.
Eat a high-fiber diet (bulk-forming agents such as psyllium (Metamucil, Fiberall) may be help).
Exercise regularly.
I Already Have Hemorrhoids. How Do I Get Rid of Them?
Keep it clean: Keep your anal area as clean as possible. Using moist wipes or medicated hemorrhoid pads are more comfortable than toilet paper.
Lay down: Avoid sitting and standing for long periods of time, which can put pressure on the hemorrhoids.
Don't lift it: Avoid heavy or moderate lifting.
Petroleum jelly: Use petroleum jelly on the rectum to cool it off and ease bowel movements.
Try some ice: Sitting on an ice pack may give some relief from the burning.
Use a sitz bath: Sit in enough warm water to cover the hemorrhoids, either in your bathtub or in a sitz bath that fits on the toilet.
Suppositories or creams: Check with your health care team before trying any of the over-the-counter remedies you may find in a drugstore.

If none of these remedies helps, your hemorrhoids get worse, or you see bleeding, check with your health care team. Remember to hang in there -- the hemorrhoids will improve after you deliver.

Baby hemorrhoids are a common thing and one of the many uncomfortable symptoms of pregnancy. These are not hemorrhoids on the baby, but hemorrhoids that the mother to be gets during the 10 months of pregnancy. Even the woman who has never gotten hemorrhoids in the past can experience them during pregnancy, so it's best to be forewarned.

Why do hemorrhoids occur so frequently in pregnant women? Hemorrhoids are caused by undue pressure on the veins in your rectum and intestines below the level of your uterus. When you are pregnant, the growing baby increases the pressure on those veins and arteries. This can cause hemorrhoids and clotting as well as varicose vein and other pressure related problems.

Constipation is another problem common to pregnancy and also a leading cause of hemorrhoids. Should hemorrhoids be caused by the pressure of the baby in the uterus, then constipation can aggravate the situation, inflaming hemorrhoids and possibly causing them to rupture and bleed. It is the straining during constipation that causes the anal canal to push out hemorrhoids instead of the bowel movement – or both.

Another reason why pregnant women often end up with hemorrhoids is the same reason why they exhibit wild mood swings and nausea – hormones. The increased progesterone during pregnancy causes a breakdown in the protection mechanism in veins that usually slow or stop swelling. The walls relax and there's nothing to stop the swelling. Progesterone also contributes to constipation, which as shown above, causes hemorrhoids and makes existing hemorrhoids even worse.

Hemorrhoids during pregnancy are par for the course. There is no need to call your doctor unless you are bleeding. Do check in before using steroid treatments and over the counter medications. Try a sitz bath instead or a poultise.

In order to have a reliable hemorrhoid treatment, it is essential to have effective elements. After all, cure is only just like its components. This particular concept is relatively straightforward, and yet many people do not seem to understand it or pay attention to this. Every ingredient inside a hemorrhoid remedy should serve a specific goal. Look for these ingredients to decide the potential treatments regarding hemorrhoids that will be effective:

Witch hazel is the initial ingredient you should search for. This kind of natural herb is said to be becoming more and more typical for acne and bee stings. It may be found at any nearby superstore. It's essentially an anti-inflammatory agent and also works to calm anything that becomes inflamed. Because hemorrhoids are swollen veins in or near your anal area, witch hazel is a necessary substance for every hemorrhoid treatment. The second element that any remedy for hemorrhoids should include is white oak bark. This natural herb is similar to aspirin except that it is all natural. This means it's really a pain killer and also can really help to cut back the discomfort that is experienced from the affliction one is battling with. It also helps to stop internal bleeding which is a significant component of any hemorrhoid treatment.

Butcher's broom is a very powerful herbal ingredient that has been used in natural medications for about two thousand years. Its main function is to make the circulatory system run more efficiently. This helps the blood to flow more freely and also transport the necessary oxygen into the problematic veins and the needless waste out of the problematic veins. After all, when blood circulates properly into and out of the veins, the cleaner the arteries are. And the cleaner the arteries, the freer the veins will be from inflammation and irritation. Because this is the situation, the veins will not be as irritated and also inflamed and will be able to withstand much more in the end. They will be healthier and more elastic which all veins should be.

Stone Root is a very essential ingredient to use for just about any hemorrhoid treatment. One of the greatest problems with fissures is the fact that the actual veins are working with so much pressure. Stone root really helps to relieve the pressure. Whenever vein pressure is relieved, the problematic veins get a chance to treat. Circulation as well becomes an easier process which means that the problem should soon be fixed. In short, less pressure means less likelihood that the condition will worsen, or even develop in the first instance.Still another multifaceted anti-inflammatory agent that can provide much relief from hemorrhoids is ginger. For example, not only is it great for boosting circulation, it is a wonderful cleansing agent for the circulatory system and, indeed, for the whole body.

The last component is probably the most important and that is cayenne pepper. A hemorrhoid treatment is incomplete without this component because unlike any other substance it helps to increase the blood flow. This will make one's body carry out waste material and also give it time to absorb nutrition better. Most of the individual ingredients listed in this article have been explained. The most important aspect to remember is that a hemorrhoid treatment is incomplete without natural and powerful healing components.
